Catcote Parents and Friends is a charity founded to enhance the lives of children and young people with additional needs. We raise funds throughout the academic year to offer financial assistance to the school and college for enrichment activities and events.
During the last five years the charity has provided financial aid to purchase a variety of equipment including:
- School minibus
- Musical instruments
- Sensory equipment
- Life Skills equipment
- Catering equipment
- Duke of Edinburgh expedition
The charity has subsidised residentials to:
- London Clothes Show
- West End Musicals
- Camping Trips
- Outdoor education residentials
- Blackpool/Liverpool life skills programme
The charity organises and funds regular events throughout the academic year, including:
- Halloween Party
- Christmas Fayres
- Valentines Disco
- Easter Fayres
- Summer Fayres – developed into an outdoor event, which takes place on the school field, with carnival rides, live music, entertainment, refreshments and games.
The charity also subsidises the school summer ball (Prom) every year to keep costs as low as possible for parents and students. They also provide outfits and dresses where needed. A limo/party bus is also funded to transport Year 11 leavers in style.
Catcote Academy and Catcote Futures parents and friends charities amalgamated in September 2017 to encourage a uniform approach to fundraising across the Trust. This has encouraged a higher attendance and shown an increase in funds raised.
The committee is made up of the following staff members and friends of Catcote:
Chair- Amanda Metcalf
Vice Chair – Barry Currell
Treasurer – Michelle Averell
Media Coordinator – Faye Church
Secretary – Deborah Foster
