At Catcote Futures all learners have severe or profound learning difficulties and will have, or have had, an Education, Health and Care Plan maintained by their Local Authority. Learners follow a broad and enriching programme of study modified to meet their personal needs and designed to help them to realise their ambitions in relation to successful preparation for adulthood. To achieve this, we have created specialist facilities and offer exciting opportunities for learners to participate in life skills, vocational learning, enterprise education and work experience.
Our pathways offer a curriculum based on the learners’ needs and abilities, mapping out a progression route to adulthood. All learners will achieve accreditation at Entry Level 1 or 2.
Blue Pathway (Severe Learning Difficulties)
Learners are given the opportunity to follow a personalised study programme, which reflects their prior attainment, education and lifelong outcomes. Within this pathway there is a greater emphasis on personal and social development, independent living skills and employability skills leading to supported employment and independent/supported living.
Yellow Pathway (Complex needs)
The focus in this pathway is on personal and social development, living in the community and life skills in a highly modified curriculum. This is taught through creative and sensory topic based units and will be delivered mostly by a consistent member of staff.
